The City Express is a fantastic Burgmann initiative which builds on budgeting, planning and team work skills.
Beyond The Classroom
City Express is a compulsory, yet fantastic Burgmann initiative for Year 10 students.
It builds on the budgeting, planning and teamwork skills learnt during Capital Challenge in Year 9 and the yearly camp program. It aims to simulate a mini 'Gap Year' experience.
Students participate in their preferred destination where they are challenged with a budget for spending money on an pre-approved itinerary including some of the following:
- A recreational activity
- A visit to a museum or gallery
- Visiting a church
- Exploring a University campus
- A cultural dining experience
- Assisting with a social cause or charity
- Walking more than 4km
- Researching and visiting one key aspect of the destination city
